Will Arndt couldn’t ignore the itch to once again toss a football for a living.

“I know I still have my best football in me,” said the 29-year-old Arndt, who is back home in Connecticut training and preparing for a couple of workouts in the coming days. “I’ve always wanted to play again. Being in my 20s, I still have an opportunity to do it. I wanted to make sure I didn’t have any regret .Article content

“ was definitely something I thought about on a number of levels at the end of last year,” said Arndt. “It was kind of a perfect storm in terms of things that have transpired that led me to coaching last year. I got calls from a few different teams about coaching opportunities. I had to answer to those offers before I had a chance to consider playing again. I had a chance to go back to Ottawa after not getting the chance to go out the way I wanted to.

Arndt has a couple of workouts lined up. There are no promises, but he’s confident he will show well.
