Former Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a No Labels national co-chairman, hinted that he believes the centrist group will make a decision on whether to run a candidate in the 2024 election after Super Tuesday.
The group has been teasing a third-party presidential ticket as the 2024 election looks likely to be a rematch between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden — despite the majority of voters not wanting a rematch. Hogan, speaking on CNN's CNN This Morning, did not say the group will for sure make a decision around Super Tuesday, but as discussions continue, he believes that is the timetable for a decision."So we are going to have to wait and see how this plays out.
"I think they're waiting to see when they get past Super Tuesday, have some talk about putting together some kind of effort to put a ticket together. There's all kinds of discussions and suggestions and ideas going on, but, you know, next March, right after Super Tuesday, I think, is when they'll make a decision about whether they're gonna pull the trigger," he continued.
The prominent centrist group, which has reportedly been trying to court Sen. Joe Manchin for a possible third-party run, has been accused of being a spoiler to Biden or Trump if it runs a candidate. No Labels has pushed back on these accusations, saying it intends to win if it enters a candidate into the presidential race.
