The Rock, who were playing without the injured Tom Schreiber, who was fourth in the NLL in goals and points this season, opened the scoring 1:07 into the game off the stick of former Thunderbirds forward Stephen Keogh. From there, the floor was tilted in the Rock’s favour for the next 15 minutes and they built a 4-1 lead 1:44 into the second quarter, two of those goals coming with the man advantage.
