This community problem transcends legalities. It is an attempt to sell the recreational heart of the Kanata North community for profit.
Fast forward to Nov. 1, 1996. ClubLink bought the Kanata golf course, promising in writing to continue to abide by the 40-per-cent agreement. Subsequently, in 2006 the then owners of ClubLink, confronted with an imminent mortgage default, had no choice but to sell out to a Toronto-based real estate developer which has continued to operate the course.
