Nicaragua’s official gazette has reported the implementation of a decision announced recently by Vice President Rosario Murillo to close 1,500 non-governmental organizations, most of which are religious organizations, stating their assets will be transferred to the state.The Nicaraguan government has revoked the legal status of 1,500 non-governmental organizations operating in the country, transferring their assets to the state.
Under the new agreement, the Attorney General’s Office will now be responsible for transferring movable and immovable assets on behalf of the State of Nicaragua.
