The 22nd Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day commemorates the ties between the two countries through various eventsThe National Historical Commission of the Philippines will be celebrating the 22nd Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day in Baler, Aurora on July 1.

Taking place in front of Baler Church and Baler Plaza, the event will also commemorate the 126th anniversary of the Start of the Siege of Baler through a program. There will also be other activities commemorating the event like the HIBU Awit at Kultura Festival from June 27 to 29 and the Ayos A Arts Workshop from June 26 to 30. In Madrid, Spain, there will be a conference on June 27 called Amistad Filipino-Hispano: Cultural, Historical Y Turismo and a Culture, Tourism, and Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day event on June 28 at the Centro de Filipinas en Madrid. On June 30, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dikaloyungan marker and also a Takbo para sa Kalayaan fun run. El Amor Perdura: A Cultural Night for the 22nd Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day will also be taking place in Centro Baler following the Holy Mass at the San Luis Obispo, Parish Church. Capping off the celebration will be an international Dia Del Galleon conference organized by the Department of History of the University of the Philippines Diliman in October.
