Let’s put our feet up and cast our eyes around the sides to the fringes of playoff contention. Which teams on the bubble can lock down the final postseason invites?

. Everything they touch on offense leads to yards and touchdowns. They’re hitting more explosive pass plays through the air than any offense in the NFL other than the Dolphins. With the game on the line, they’re throwing passes on third-and-7 to their All-Pro-caliberBen Johnson, the team’s OC, has risen to the top of the league’s head-coach-in-waiting rankings as the coaching carousel starts to roll around.

It’s been fun watching the Lions work through the early-season malaise. They’re not the most talented team. But in an iffy NFC, they have enough pieces to sneak into the playoffs and to win a postseason game on the road.Somehow, there is still a path for either Carolina or New Orleans to squeeze into the playoffs if either win two of their final three games. The playoffs essentially start this week for Seattle.

Yet of that group, the Seahawks are the only team to cross that 350-point threshold to have a net-zero point differential. And while the Lions’ defense has been on the rise, Seattle’s has started to decline. It’s a high-variance group reliant on turnovers to overcome talent disparities.Any shot the Packers have at rescuing something from this shipwreck of a season will come down to whether or not they can beat the Dolphins on Christmas Day.

More troubling than the once-sputtering offense is the defense. Banged-up, overly passive and often devoid of fresh ideas, the Packers’ defense has cratered. It opened the year 19th in EPA per play, keeping games tight as Rodgers and the offense worked through their identity crisis. But since Week 6, the group has collapsed. They’re now 28th in EPA per play with an allergy to third-down stops.

Liberals lost the 2022 federal election because they ‘abandoned their principles’Liberals lost the 2022 federal election because they ‘abandoned their principles’Sky News host Rita Panahi says the Liberals lost the 2022 federal election earlier this year because they “abandoned their principles”, particularly when it came to “crucial issues” around cost of living. Ms Panahi said the Liberal Party has released the review into the 2022 election loss, which identified “several significant issues” and made 49 recommendations. “The Liberal Party must wake up to the reality that their future is no longer in the rich blue-ribbon seats that it used to dominate. Its future is in the suburbs among aspirational voters, the working and middle class,” she said. “That's where they need to focus their energies, those people want real choice at the ballot box, not uni-party policies we saw at the last election.”
