Chris Hipkins has announced New Zealand's self-isolation period for residents who test positive for COVID-19 will remain in place.
Prime Minister Chris Hipkins confirmed on Tuesday the government was keeping the mandatory self-isolation period in place through to June.
"We've asked specifically for further advice on the issue of testing to return to work. So people may not need to isolate for that full period," Mr Hipkins said. "At the moment, the isolation period serves not just to relieve pressure on the health system and result in fewer people being infected," he said.
