New York Fed sees US inflation expectations fall

CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s measure of inflation, in relation to consumer expectation, has fallen to its lowest level since August 2021.

Respondents in the central bank’s Survey of Consumer Expectations expected one-year inflation to be 5.2 per cent.

“That dovetails with some data that we’ve seen recently according to the University of Michigan,” he told Sky News Australia.
