A new survey into the mental health of Australia’s farmers has revealed nearly half of the respondents have considered self-harm or suicide in recent years.
The National Farmer Wellbeing report also found 45 per cent of those surveyed have felt depressed and anxious lately.
Norco CEO Michael Hampson said the fact only 30 per cent of farmers involved in the report said they went and “did something about” their declining mental health was “incredibly confronting”.Lifeline: 13 11 14
