“The reality is that children admitted to our hospital today are more acutely ill with conditions far more complex than even a decade or so ago. We need and want to do more to help them,” Fullerton said at a news conference on Wednesday. The research at the centre will focus on pediatric health, a contrast to the majority of work that centres on adult patients, said Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping.
“We know that children’s health-care needs are unique,” he said. “We also know that helping them achieve their best health in childhood sets them up to be healthier adults, which is good for the future of our province.”Recommended from Editorial
