Life expectancy, rates of suicide, and preventable deaths are all getting worse in remote parts of NSW according to research from The Australia Institute.

The report's author, Kate McBride, who was born and raised in Western NSW, warned that the gap in health outcomes overall was projected to grow wider unless there was immediate investment in rural health."What we found is that the people in Far West NSW are two times more likely to die prematurely.
