Const. Amy Sloan and Edo, a Belgian Malinois, are now working out of the city

Const. Amy Sloan and her canine companion Edo have completed the OPP's general service dog training program at headquarters in Orillia, and are now working out of the detachment on Arthur Street.

Besides the 18-week course, OPP dogs and their handlers participate in a five-week drug detection course and a follow-up two-week advanced canine course.Edo is almost two years old and is a Belgian Malinois obtained from Poland.The OPP has two other K-9 teams in Northwestern Ontario, based in Fort Frances and Kenora.
