Interim general manager says 360-degree piece of technology is a game-changer for Charlottetown arena

Dave StewartCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown is ready to unveil its newest piece of technology.in time for the UPEI-Saint Mary’s AUS men’s hockey game on Jan. 27.
During an interview at Eastlink Centre on Jan. 25, he said the screens will display the score, penalties, video of the game or whatever video the host team chooses to show, as well as any in-game advertising or promotional video. There will also be a remote camera mounted on the underside of the video scoreboard that can follow the plan and broadcast the images on the screens.
Although it is new technology, the screen will face the same hazards the old score clock did – flying pucks.
