The town of New Glasgow is preparing for its first Winter Bike Week Light ride coming up on Feb. 15.The town of New Glasgow is preparing for its first Winter Bike Week Light ride coming up on Feb. 15.

Veronica Deno, active living manager for the town of New Glasgow is excited about the community spirit that this event will bring. The community is encouraged to decorate their bicycle and their person with as many lights as possible, with a prize given for the brightest and best-decorated bike. Lights could include: bike lights, head lamps, battery-powered twinkle lights - all kinds of options.The town reminds riders that Nova Scotia law dictates that bikes have a white front light and a rear red light or rear red reflector. There are limited amounts of lights that can be borrowed.
