A career in forensic science is a much broader field than just dissecting dead bodies.

“Not all forensic tasks involve handling corpses. At the hospital, the act of dissecting the body is carried out by a forensic pathologist, and not a chemist or a forensic science officer,” she said during the launch of the Bachelor of Science Forensic Science programme at UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur .

“This demand provides more career opportunities for forensic and chemical experts. Chemistry subjects make up 30% of this new programme, which qualifies our graduates to sign up as registered chemists at the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry.
