Filipino boxer Nesthy Petecio, after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, says she received a sign from God to continue her Olympic journey and chase gold in the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Petecio, who previously won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, is focused on becoming a world champion and defending her Southeast Asian Games gold medal in the meantime.
HEADING to the Paris Olympics last year, Filipino boxer Nesthy Petecio said that it was going to be her second and last trip to the Games, or so she thought.'I said that Paris was going to be my last Olympics , but it seems like God doesn't want me to stop there. No stopping until the gold is here,' said Petecio in an interview with Radyo Pilipinas 2 Sports .
When the flags were being raised when we were at the podium, I was looking at the Philippine flag, and we're in third place,' said Petecio.'I'm like I should have been on the top, but when I look at the Chinese Taipei flag, I kind of saw it as our flag instead, so I said to the Lord that this is the sign for me to give one more go at the Olympics.
