Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson of Negros Occidental appealed to the public for prayers to quell the escalating volcanic activity of Mount Kanlaon, currently under Alert Level 3. Lacson acknowledged the warnings from experts and the uncertainty surrounding the volcano's potential eruption, emphasizing the need for divine intervention. He also announced plans to discuss the possibility of allowing evacuees to return home with the Office of Civil Defense, while prioritizing the well-being of those currently in evacuation centers.
What we need right now is only divine intervention—a miracle, perhaps, where Kanlaon will suddenly calm down and rest.
Otherwise, experts say it will erupt, though they don’t know exactly when,” matod ni Lacson.“We are asking for prayers, and in fact, I’ve requested Father Mao Buenafe to continue praying for Divine Intervention,” dugang niya. The warnings have been intense over the past two days. That’s the dilemma we face,” nagkanayon si Lacson. / TDE
