COTABATO CITY – Officials of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) on Wednesday hailed Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for pursuing a plan to build an Islamic cemetery in the country’s capital city.

Moreno said he has already asked city officials to look for a lot inside the Manila South to be “dedicated only for our Muslim brothers and sisters.”The concept of opening an Islamic cemetery in Manila was introduced to Mayor Domagoso during a courtesy call in late July by NCMF officials from the National Capital Region , agency spokesman Jun Alonto-Datu Ramos said.
Filipino movie action star Robin Padilla, who has also embraced Islam, launched a solicitation campaign for the purchase of lands in Luzon and Visayas for use as formal graveyards for Muslims.
