The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested four of its own employees and seven fixers for allegedly colluding in issuing NBI clearance certificates. The NBI-Cybercrime Division (CCD) and the NBI-Special Task Force (STF) conducted an entrapment operation based on information that an employee was expediting clearance applications in exchange for bribes. All the arrested individuals were presented for inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice.
Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation arrested four of the bureau’s own employees for allegedly colluding with fixers in the issuance of NBI clearance certificate s, the NBI said Wednesday.According to the agency, the NBI - Cybercrime Division and the NBI -Special Task Force arrested four employees under the Information and Communication Technology Division and seven fixers outside the NBI Clearance Center.
The employee was also alleged to have expedited the clearance application in exchange for P800 to P2,000.Due to this, the CCD conducted covert inquiries and confirmed the information.On Monday, operatives of the CCD and the STF conducted an entrapment operation, which resulted in the arrest of the four NBI employees and the seven fixers.
