The more important the game, the more he’s going to show up for his team ... when the games get big, he’s the guy that is going to show up for you. “The thing about Nate is the more important the game, the better he’s going to play,” Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said about MacKinnon in a post-game media gathering on Monday. “When our team needed to fight to get back into playoff contention, he elevated his game. When our team was trying to climb the standings and catch the teams in front of us, he elevated it again. We’ve seen him do that through stretch runs in playoffs.
