The former world No.1 has revealed the family news that has led to her to withdrawn from the rest of the 2023 tennis season following concerns for her health and whether she would return to the court.
There have been concerns about the former world No.1 player's health this week after she officially withdrew from theShe had not competed since September and her social media posts showed she had been on holidays with her American rapper boyfriend as recently as last week.
Osaka, 25, broke her silence early on Thursday morning to share she is pregnant and expecting a child with her beau Cordae, also 25. "The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that its the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun," she continued. "2023 will be a year that'll be full of lessons for me and I hope I'll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I'll be at Aus 2024. Love you all infinitely," Osaka said.
Osaka clinched the first Grand Slam of the year at Melbourne Park in 2019 and rose to the top of the women's rankings at 23-years-old before Ash Barty claimed the No.1 spot later in the year when the Aussie won Wimbledon.
