Victoria Police is appealing for anyone who may be able to identify a woman wearing a string of pearls and a pink corset after her body was found floating in the water at a popular beach more than 50 years ago.
The woman’s body was found floating in the water off Sorrento Back Beach on the state’s Mornington Peninsula by beachgoers on February 25, 1966.

Picture: Victoria Police Mornington Crime Investigation Unit detectives released a digitally generated image of the woman on Monday in the hope that someone may be able to identify her.The woman had grey hair, no teeth and brown eyes with a blue periphery in her iris.When her body was found, she was wearing a string of pearls, a pink bra, a pink corset, blue bloomers and nylon stockings, according to police.
