Murder charges have been laid against policeman Beau Lamarre-Condon, but detectives are still puzzled over when the victims died and where their bodies are.
Less than a fortnight ago, Jesse Baird and Luke Davies – loved, talented young men with their whole lives ahead of them – were dancing together at a Pink concert at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, all smiles and sparkles. By late Monday afternoon, they were dead.
Since Wednesday morning, when the alarm was raised over the men’s disappearance, they have pieced together key details. And what they do know has led them to believe Lamarre-Condon is the killer. Police also think Lamarre-Condon may have been hiding at a relative’s house in Balmain until news of the deaths started breaking on late Thursday afternoon, though no family member has been charged or implicated in the matter. When they raided the house, he wasn’t there.
Homicide detectives, still trying to piece together exactly what happened over those few days, are appealing to the public for help. They want to find the bodies, not only to pinpoint the cause of death but also to give two distraught families closure.“It’s really important we get movements in relation to that van,” said homicide squad detective superintendent Daniel Doherty. “The families are obviously devastated by the news. It’s a very tough day for them.
