Barry Angus Studley, 47, of Middle Sackville, has been identified as the victim in a killing in East Preston in August. - RCMP handoutA Middle Sackville courier murdered last month appears to have driven two separate roads: one where he showed a passion for the game of hockey as a dedicated trainer, and another where he racked up dozens of criminal convictions and allegedly threatened to kill the mother of his child and their son.
Adams recalled one game where a puck hit Studley. “It cut him open. He just not a big deal. He got stitched up and away he goes.”“We’re dedicating the season to Barry,” Adams said.“I had to get a vulnerable sector check when I started back probably in 2008-9, somewhere in there, and I did a criminal record check as well,” Adams said.
“I didn’t think he had a nasty side in him, to tell you the truth,” Adams said. “The Barry Studley I knew just had an extreme passion for the game, and that’s the way I’m remembering him.”“I have no idea what happened or why,” he said. “None.”Adams was puzzled about Studley’s dead body being found in East Preston.
“Any connection drawn from Studley's past criminal history would be speculative at best in relation to his death,” Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay, who speaks for the RCMP, said in a brief interview Thursday. They want anyone with information on the case to contact the Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit at 490-5020.
She told the court about him pushing her when she was pregnant, another push from him that hurt her back, and him biting her leg.
