Defence lawyer Ian Hutchison said he needed more time before setting dates for a preliminary hearing.inside Yacht Club Social on Sept. 4 at about 12:35 a.m., shortly after he entered the establishment on Lower Water Street in downtown Halifax. Drake was arrested in March 2019 and charged with first-degree murder in Keizer’s killing. But prosecutors withdrew the charge in October 2021 just before trial, saying a reasonable prospect of conviction did not exist.
In 2013, Drake was charged with attempted murder and 10 other offences after a man was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Red Fox Bar & Grill in Halifax. The victim refused to co-operate with police, and the charges were withdrawn in March 2014.
