“It’s an opportunity to promote and market the organization and our clients,” says Flood, emphasizing how visibility on its own is important. “Sometimes public perception of somebody in a chair is that they’re not as involved or can’t take part; our clients have a chance to show that anybody can take part in these activities.”
“It’s good to include people with disabilities in events like this,” says Bulger, “because it’s just nice to feel included.”“It’s a fun event that makes you feel good when you finish it. It’s a good, positive atmosphere. Everybody’s friendly there and everybody’s in a good mood.”
