MPs announce more than $200K in festival, events funding

Nickel Belt MP Marc Serré and Sudbury MP Viviane Lapointe unveil funding for five local events.

Five local events, including the popular summer Up Here Festival, are sharing $211,000 in support through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, local MPs announced recently.

“This support contributed to the development of organizations hosting events and performances in the arts, culture, and heritage sector, while offering locals and visitors an arts and culture event,” a joint release from the two politicians states. “These projects have a major impact in Sudbury, in the arts and culture sector as well as on tourism and economic development.
