The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore , the National Environment Agency and JTC Corporation are investigating reports of periodic oil slicks off Tuas Port waters.

NEA is investigating potential land-based sources of oil pollution that could have reached the sea via drainage systems. It has also issued waste oil management guidelines to facilities near Tuas Port.Meanwhile, JTC installed oil booms and CCTV cameras along an open seaward section of a key drainage to monitor oil gathered at the booms.
