He says it will save families money, be better for the environment and create jobs.
The program helps low-to-middle-income households that are currently heating their homes with oil to move to electric cold-climate heat pumps. He said the founders of that company looked at the opportunity years ago to move into the energy efficiency space. “One of the strengths to the new process, which is going to make it more accessible and quicker for people to actually install a new heat pump and to replace their home oil systems is the fact that we've cooperated with the provincial government and EfficiencyOne to have a single point of contact through Efficiency,” Fraser said. “It allows you to file a single application to avail yourself of both federal and provincial government programs.
