MBPJ has signed an MOU with Alliance For a Safe Community to collaborate on community and road safety programmes.

Petaling Jaya mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir said the NGO had extensive experience while its chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye was known for his social activism.

On the road safety programme, he said: “Petaling Jaya serves as a vital transit point between Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam for a significant volume of vehicles travelling along the Federal Highway. “NGOs can become integral participants in the community and can provide feedback to the council, such as identifying potholes, which will require prompt repair and maintenance,” he said.“This partnership with the school involves comprehensive training on occupational safety and health aspects.

At the celebration, 34 MBPJ officers from all departments and units were appointed occupational safety coordinators.
