A motorist was arrested in the Philippines after police discovered shabu (methamphetamine) during a Comelec checkpoint. The suspect, Erlon Bragat Pila, was found with four packs of shabu weighing 11 grams. Police also seized a weighing scale and the suspect's motorcycle.
A MOTORIST passing through a Commission on Elections checkpoint was arrested after a substance believed to be shabu was found on his motorcycle at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, along the National Highway in Barangay Damolog, Sogod town.The suspect was identified as Erlon Bragat Pila, 35, a resident of Sitio Damolog Gamay, Barangay Tabunan, Borbon, Cebu .Police seized four packs of the illegal substance weighing 11 grams, with a standard drug price of P74,000.
Also confiscated were a black and gray belt bag containing a weighing scale for illegal drugs, and the motorcycle used by the suspect.According to the Sogod Police Station, its personnel conducted the Comelec checkpoint as part of the nationwide gun ban implementation.However, one motorist suddenly panicked upon seeing police officers on the road, raising suspicions that he was carrying contraband.
