Charges have been laid against a motorcycle driver who police clocked at more than twice the speed limit. An officer observed the speeding motorcycle while patrolling Highway 37 in Centre Hastings Monday morning. The rider failed to stop for Centre Hastings as well as Quinte West OPP officers and fled the area at a very high rate of speed.
Officers discontinued their pursuit for safety reasons but quickly located the motorbike at the side of the road with a burnt out clutch.Flight from peace officerThe accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 10.
