And I wish I could just find that person who could tell me what happened and I could let him go in my mind,” said Bernadette Middleton, Steven’s mother.
“I think he hooked into that,” said Bernadette, who notes that in the year prior his death, Steven had been trying to turn things around. “It really hurts because all my life is focused on my son. I have him a life, everything,” said Bernadette. “It hurts that you dress up these kids and then somebody just dumps him like a piece of garbage. It hurts me so much.”
