The mother of William Holdback, 21, who was allegedly murdered in Adelaide’s inner northwest says she is devastated by the loss of her son. Holdback’s family were present as the man accused of murdering him in Welland, Liam Slann, made his first appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court, where he did not apply for bail.
Mother of alleged murder victim breaks silence as accused appears in court. South Australia police said Holdback was found unresponsive on Barrpowell St on April 10. A witness attempted to render first-aid, but Holdback, died at the scene. Police allege shortly before he died, Holdback had an argument with two people in a BMW sedan. Slann was charged three days later at his home in Adelaide’s north, while police are still interviewing a second suspect.
