More firms join DA’s e-Kadiwa program – The Manila Times

“Digital technology has become a very important tool to enhance agriculture.”

The Department of Agriculture has partnered with more companies and food brands to expand its e-Kadiwa program, which aims to bring fresh farm produce to Metro Manila residents amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

The DA, he added, will ensure that products sold through e-Kadiwa meet the requirements of food laws relevant to their activities in the food supply chain and that control systems are in place to prevent, eliminate or reduce risks to consumers. Policy reforms should also be made focusing on increased food sufficiency in all commodities, export orientation strengthened and roadmap for all commodities developed, he added.
