Dumais went on to record two goals and four assists. - Tim KrochakThe Halifax Mooseheads winger set another significant franchise mark on Wednesday in a 9-0 home win over the Charlottetown Islanders. Dumais scored twice and set up four other goals to give him the single-season record for assists with 82.
"I don't focus on that but it's hard to ignore too because a lot of people bring it up to me, especially my parents who send me stuff from Twitter."Abid had 137 points in a Halifax uniform during his one year with the team so that stands as the franchise's single-season record. Dumais now has 136 points with two games remaining so he's in great shape to break that mark as well.
Dumais' linemates also had productive nights, with Josh Lawrence finishing with two goals and three assists and Alexandre Doucet scoring once and adding two assists. Lawrence now has 47 goals so he could join Dumais and Doucet with 50 or more this season. Doucet leads the QMJHL with 57 and Dumais is second with 54.
"We can always trust him back there," Dumais said of Rousseau."It's the same when Brady is in net. Whoever we have playing, we have confidence in them. But Mathis has been off the charts all year and he helps us win a lot of games." "That's definitely not how it'll be against them if we play them in playoffs," Dumais said."They're a really good defensive team and they're really well-coached. We know that. That's why we need to put this one behind us and make sure we treat them as a really good team next time we play them."
