"For us not playing on Friday, I think the guys were itching to get at it," Favreau said."The first two minutes of the game we were chasing it a little bit and we knew that might happen after not playing on Friday and getting a bit of a break. But as the period went on we got better and better. And I liked the way we finished it with late goals and then our goal for the second was to respond really well.
"We knew what happened the last time we were in this building and we had an extremely good first period and then let it slip away so we didn't want that to happen again. I liked the way we responded." Mathieu Cataford added a pair of goals for the Mooseheads and Evan Boucher and Alexandre Doucet scored one each. Markus Vidicek added four assists and defencemen Brady Schultz and Jake Furlong had three apiece.
Yoan Loshing, Preston Lounsbury and Vincent Labelle were the scorers for the Wildcats, who trailed 10-0 by the middle of the second period. Mathis Rousseau turned aside 26 shots for Halifax and Vincent Filion and Jacob Steinman combined to make 27 saves for Moncton."We'll have to be ready tomorrow because they're a team that always shows pride and they'll be ready," Favreau said.
