Utusan Malaysia membuat perbandingan mengenai kos ka­sar bagi sebuah keluarga bersa­ma orang tiga anak untuk bercuti selama tiga hari dua malam.

Selepas itu, kenderaan mereka yang diletakkan di parkir ke­dua-dua jeti tersebut dicaj antara RM10 ke RM15 per hari. Kemudian apabila sampai di Terminal Feri Pulau Langkawi, mereka perlu menyewa kende­raan sebagai pengangkutan untuk mengelilingi pulau legenda itu. Walaupun mempunyai pilihan untuk membawa masuk ken­­deraan sendiri ke Pulau Lang­­kawi, perbezaan harga de­ngan feri penumpang tidak terlalu banyak iaitu RM478.90 bagi sebuah kereta sedan 1500cc termasuk empat tiket penumpang.

Berbanding ke Hatyai atau Satun di Thailand, modal perjalanan lebih banyak dijimatkan antaranya tiada kos membawa masuk kenderaan kecuali insu­ran wajib yang hanya berharga puluhan ringgit bagi tempoh sembilan hari dan bayaran pemandu serta penumpang yang hanya sekitar puluhan baht.
