Former president Joseph 'Erap' Ejercito Estrada received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the film industry.
Other MMFF icons, artists, filmmakers, and key figures from the past 50 years were also honored. Estrada's message, delivered by his son, Senator Jinggoy, emphasized how local cinema has been integral to his career and highlighted the importance of collective efforts to sustain and nurture Filipino filmmaking for future generations. MMDA Chairman and concurrent MMFF Overall Chairman Romando Artes highlighted the MMFF's role in boosting interest in Filipino cinema. Artes also mentioned that, with the help of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, the film entries will be shown abroad, allowing both Filipinos and foreign film enthusiasts to appreciate the talents and quality of Filipino cinema.
