Mitsubishi has revealed the Eclipse Sportback EV, an electric vehicle based on the Nissan Leaf platform, set to launch in North America later this year. The model retains Mitsubishi's triple-diamond styling with redesigned lights, sportier wheels, and a 75 kWh battery expected to deliver 215 hp and around 600 km of range. The company also announced a new Outlander-inspired SUV for 2027 and noted that these models will not be available in the Philippines, where the plug-in hybrid Outlander is scheduled for 2026.
The latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Eclipse is here, and it’s...a Nissan Leaf . Mitsubishi has somehow distanced the Eclipse even further from its two-door coupe roots and sparked another ‘hear us out’ moment.
So let’s hear them out. This new model will be officially called the Eclipse Sportback EV, and it is scheduled to arrive in North America later this year. It will adopt Mitsubishi’s triple-diamond styling, with redesigned lights and sportier wheels. The face also gets thicker garnishes, with a similar bumper around the back.
PHOTO BY Mitsubishi The carmaker has yet to disclose its full performance numbers, but it will likely use the same 75kWh battery found on the Leaf, with 215hp and 355Nm of torque on tap. Its driving range could also be around 600km on a full charge.

At the same time, Nissan Philippines has also not introduced the newest version of the Leaf to the local industry, though an older model is still available for P1.998 million. Here at home, the plug-in hybrid Outlander is scheduled to make its official debut in August 2026. It will be the first electrified offering from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, while its regional rebadging agreement with Nissan continues.
