Peel Regional Police were called to an apartment complex at 3400 Riverspray Cres. on Friday morning for reports of gunfire outside. Two men were arrested at the scene and evidence of gunfire was found. No one was injured.Cops say 34-year-old Mubarak Rirash, of Mississauga, was convicted in June of prior firearms offences and was on probation. He was subject to a lifetime weapons ban and is currently on charge for assault causing bodily harm.
He was arrested and held for a bail hearing. His new charges include breach of probation order, intentionally discharge a firearm recklessly, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm contrary to order, and occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.A second man, 28-year-old Wardi Dahir of Toronto, was also held pending a bail hearing.
