Ministry to study incentives for food operators offering Menu Rahmah FMTNews
ALOR SETAR: The ministry of domestic trade and cost of living will conduct a study to refine the incentives for food operators involved in the implementation of the Menu Rahmah initiative.“The study will involve interviews with food operators nationwide and also a review of the menu offered by them to determine the assistance that they require.
“The feedback so far shows that stalls and restaurants offering Menu Rahmah are attracting customers. We will review all the information,” he told reporters after opening the Companies Commission of Malaysia Semarak Niaga programme here. Salahuddin said the comprehensive study would also involve other Rahmah initiatives including the Rahmah Baskets, which were distributed to the lower-income group.
Meanwhile, he said a total of 1,148 Ramadan bazaar traders offering Menu Rahmah, said there had been an increase in sales. KPDN introduced the Menu Rahmah initiative on Jan 31. Under the initiative, meals for lunch or dinner are offered for as low as RM5 at over 15,000 outlets nationwide.
