"When Team Switzerland's team manager Lukas Bamgartner advised me that his team was short a goaltender for practice and asked if I knew anyone who might be interested in suiting up, I thought immediately of Dylan," said Matt Moore, general manager of the RECC." "One of my dreams is to get lit up by someone in the NHL," said Bergmark."If I had some ice-time with Crosby and he scored a million goals on me, that would be the dream, so I was looking forward to the caliber.Dressed up in a red serge jersey with RCMP-styled hockey pants, Bergmark stood out from the Swiss players on the ice.
Bergmark believes himself to be a pretty good player, but when he first entered the rink, the goaltending coach was unsure of his skill level.When he got on the ice, he played for 20 minutes while players practiced 2-on-0 and 3-on-0 drills. While those who attended the practice figured Bergmark was out for the count when he was on the bench, he quickly put his helmet back on and got back on the ice, forcing himself to endure the rest of the practice.Dylan Bergmark, resting on the bench before continuing practice.
