The giving group meets quarterly to hear from three member-nominated, non-profit groups. After five-minute presentations from each organization, members vote on which group will be the recipient of each member’s $100 donation.Middleton Railway Museum
volunteers Lawrence Powell and Dianne Hankinson LeGard highlighted recent successes in their group’s effort to preserve the railroad heritage of Middleton and the Annapolis Valley. Two steam locomotives are now located on sections of track at the museum, and there are plans to build a scale Dominion Atlantic Railway display and add educational displays to the former train station and yard.
The group’s next quarterly meeting will take place June 8 at the Main Street Station in Kentville. New members are welcome.
