MIDDLETON, N.S. — Paige Lundy is proud to be part of a military family.
Paige Lundy, a Grade 10 student at Middleton Regional High School, laid poppies for Sgt. Donald Gillespie and F/Sgt. pilot Reg Bellhouse during the No Stone Left Alone service Nov. 4 at the Commonwealth War Graves at Old Holy Trinity Cemetery in Middleton. - Jason Malloy He meets with the students each year before the service and said they are always keen when he and other community members walk into the classroom.
“They took it so seriously and were so engaged in the process and excited to be able to honour the fallen and build that connection to where we are,” said Rebekah Wheadon, lead teacher with the school’s options and opportunities program. “Being able to walk 20 minutes to a site like this makes history come alive and those connections much more apparent.”
