. Now, to complement the text component, the company is also adding in image generation. Recently, the company announced that it is adding image generation into the mix, for both search and browser.
According to the Microsoft blog post, this new AI is called the Bing Image Creator, which is “powered by an advanced version of the DALL-E model”. For the unfamiliar, that’s the image generator AI made by OpenAI, the same company behind ChatGPT. You’ve probably seen such generated images online before. There’s even a
that’s dedicated to showing strange things cooked up by AI, many of which consists of weird DALL-E generations.As with the initial Bing AI rollout, this DALL-E-esque Image Creator will be rolling out first to those who have signed up to be part of the limited preview. For such users, you’ll be able to use it straight from the Edge browser on both desktop and mobile. Bing chat will be another avenue where the Image Creator AI can be accessed from.
