Hence, the Liberals are trying to link Poilievre with Trump in an attempt to stop the political bleeding and reverse their fortunes. It’s a true sign of desperation on the federal government’s part — but it won’t work. Criticizing the long-standing, ineffective Liberal strategy with respect to refugees at the Canada-U.S. border isn’t Trump-like. Our country is welcoming and inclusive, but we should expect asylum-seekers to follow the proper process for gaining entry into Canada, rather than trying to do an end-run around our laws by entering through irregular border crossings.Article content
