Mexican drug cartel leader Ovidio Guzman-Lopez, the son of notorious drug kingpin ‘El Chapo’ has been arrested by Mexican authorities.

He was captured after there were reports of violence, gun fire and car jacking in the city of Culiacan, home to drug cartel ‘The Sinaloa’, one of the world’s largest drug trafficking organisations.

The mayor of Culiacan says armed forces carried out a raid after a plane was reportedly hit by gunfire sending Culiacan into a city wide lockdown.
