METROPOLITAN Bank and Trust Co. ( Metrobank ) has once again been recognized as the Strongest Bank in the Philippines for the fourth consecutive year at The Asian Banker Global 2024 Finance Awards . Metrobank Financial Markets Sector Head Antonio Fernand Tansingco expressed pride in this award, stating that it reflects the bank's commitment to being strong, stable, and resilient while prioritizing customer trust.
He attributed this achievement to the bank's core value of 'malasakit,' which emphasizes deep care and responsibility, coupled with the dedication of every Metrobank employee. The Strongest Banks ranking by The Asian Banker is based on a rigorous scorecard evaluating six criteria: balance sheet performance, ability to scale, balance sheet growth, risk profile, profitability, asset quality, and liquidity. These criteria are assessed through 14 specific factors and the evaluation process takes place between March and August each year. The Asian Banker also recently named Metrobank the Most Recommended Retail Bank in the Philippines based on its Annual BankQuality Consumer Survey, which garnered feedback from over 12,000 customers across Asia in January 2024. Metrobank's Financial Markets Sector has also received recognition from the Bureau of the Treasury, Fund Managers' Association of the Philippines, and regional finance publications, including Alpha Southeast Asia and The Asset, for its expertise in securities trading, investment, and wealth management
